Grail Pieces – Alex

All of us interested in watches have the pieces that we really want. So, allow me to share with you my grail pieces that I would love to eventually add to my collection.

1.Cartier Tank

Cartier Tank's 100-year History and the People Who Made It Famous

This watch is iconic. No two ways about it. This watch is instantly recognisable by everyone, a watch worn by icons from Warhol to Ali. Personally, I love the timeless design of the Tank, it really does speak to me. The subtle blued hands and matched cabochon, it just screams elegance to me.

2. Patek Philippe 3940

...Welcome to PatekMagazine.com...Home of Jake's Patek ...

Patek Philippe is one of the coveted holy trinity and this perpetual calender to me is absolutely stunning. Personally, I love the champagne dial which is beautifully balanced and the Dauphene hands. This certainly would be the heavy hitter of the dream collection.

3. A. Lange & Sohne Datograph Perpetual Calender

A. Lange & Sohne Datograph Perpetual 41mm Platinum Flyback ...

Sigh, yes alas another perpetual calender. Although, this one is of the German variety and excudes excellence and that German engineering that they’re widely renowned for.

4. Zenith El Primero Ceramic

Zenith Launches Black Ceramic El Primero Skeleton

The Zenith El Primero was truly the first automatic chronograph and would have to make it to a collection such as this. It’s truly a thing of beauty, especially this Ceramic edition with that Carbon Fibre strap – Most definitely a thing of sheer beauty and something unique due to the materials utilised.

5. F.P JOURNE chronometre bleu

This watch would most definitely be the unique piece in my colllection, coming from the legendary watch maker FP Journe, maunfactured entirely by him with only a few, 100 if that a year being produced, this definitely would be an amazing and unique piece to have… plus damn just look at that blue.
